How Common Is Gaucher Disease?

Gaucher disease is not a common disease at all. Gaucher’s is a rare genetic disorder that affects 1 in 100,000 people and those of Eastern European descent are at a higher risk for this disease. Gaucher’s prevents a person from producing an enzyme called glucocerabrosidase.
